The internet is a wide ranging space that allows us to look up and learn about just about anything we desire. While this can be particularly useful at times, it is downright scary in some cases, particularly for kids and smaller children. For those studying human sexuality, the internet is highly useful as it profiles just about every type of sexual behavior possible! So, for sexuality students, getting online to study is probably the best way to find and make contact with the more obscure areas of human sexuality.

Everyone is familiar with pornographic sites, they pop up when you least expect it, for example, when you type in a simple word like “balloon” and do a search for it. These are perfect for those of you studying human sexuality and are looking for some of the more rare examples.

Just about anything can be found online these days and even if you are studying human sexuality, you will most likely be surprised by some of the websites that appear under your searches. There are literally thousands of websites dedicated to the stranger side of human sexual practices and they are all available for you to see online.

For the university student on a search for the more obscure types of sexuality, the internet offers access to the inside world. Most of the more rare areas, such as vampirism and balloon lovers offer their websites for free, whereas regular and more mainstream porn sites tend to charge a fee if you want to enter. Free is perfect for the starving student who just wants to get a better understanding and more information for a thesis.

The other advantage to rarer types of sexuality is that the people involved in them tend to set up their own private websites and forums. This allows the student to go in and actually interact with people who are interested and actively involved in this practice. Forums provide unlimited amounts of information and some people may even agree to anonymous interviews for students who need them in order to write a school paper.

Since the majority of these sexual areas are not publicly accepted, it is understandable why everything must be kept anonymous. It is also part of the appeal of the internet and the human sexuality student must be sensitive to this and not request real names or other personal information that does not relate directly to the study. Most of these people would never participate in any kind of study if it means that they might be identified as a pervert or sexual weirdo. In fact, many even hide this aspect of their sexuality from their own marriage partners!

Yes, human sexuality can be strange, and apart from actually being physically with the people involved in these practices, the student will find that being online and chatting in forums and message boards is probably the best way to get the experience necessary in order to write a thesis or essay for class about each type of behavior.
